How it works

One GET request. One JSON answer.

1

Create a free account and copy your API key

No card. The key works the moment you see it.

2

Send the address as typed, in the URL

Lowercase, missing ZIP, extra spaces: send it as is. Put the key in the Authorization header.

3

Read deliverableStatus and act on it

Save it, ask for the apartment number, or ask the customer to check. The four values are below.

# the address exactly as a customer typed it
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  "https://api.sthan.io/v2/address-verification/usa/balanced/1600%20pennsylvania%20ave%20nw%20washington%20dc"

{
  "fullAddress": "1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20500-0005",
  "addressLine1": "1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW",
  "city": "Washington", "stateCode": "DC",
  "zipCode": "20500", "zip4": "0005",
  "deliverableStatus": "Confirmed",
  "confidence": 1
}
ConfirmedReal, complete, deliverable. Save it.
ConfirmedPrimaryOnlyStreet is real, apartment or suite missing. Ask for the unit.
NotDeliverableNo matching deliverable address. Ask the customer to check.
UnknownNot enough to decide. Let it through or ask for more.

Who it is for

Anywhere a wrong address costs money

Checkout and signup forms

Autocomplete fills the address in a few keystrokes. Verification catches the typo before the order ships.

Autocomplete + Verification

Shipping and logistics

Confirm every label is deliverable, add ZIP+4, and geocode stops for routing.

Verification + Geocoding

CRM and customer data cleanup

Parse one-line addresses from imports into fields, standardize them, and find duplicates that only differ in spelling.

Parser + Verification

Insurance, lending and KYC forms

Standardized addresses and coordinates for quotes, risk lookups and identity checks. Country and city from the visitor's IP.

Verification + IP Geolocation

Measured, not claimed

We publish our accuracy and how we test it

In August 2026 we took 26,943 real US addresses, damaged each one on purpose (typos, dropped city or ZIP, glued fields, shuffled order) and measured whether the parser found the right address again. Full method and results are on the benchmark page, and you can run the same test on any vendor.

When the house number does not exist, the API says so instead of guessing. A wrong answer with a confident label is the most expensive kind, so we measure that too.

96.2%right address recovered on single typos or dropped fields
99.9%recovered on formatting-only damage (case, punctuation, spacing)
99.9%refused to guess when the house number did not exist

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

How much does address verification cost?
100 verifications a month are free. Paid plans start at $12 a month for 10,000 and go to $650 for 3 million. Every plan is on the pricing page with no quote form.
What is the difference between verification and parsing?
Parsing splits a line of text into fields and does not check whether the address exists. Verification checks it against postal records, standardizes it, adds ZIP+4 and returns a deliverability status. If you need to know whether mail will arrive, use verification.
Does it work with messy input?
Yes. Send the address as typed: lowercase, no commas, missing ZIP, apartment in the wrong place. On the August 2026 benchmark the parser recovered the right address 96.2% of the time on single typos or dropped fields.
Which countries are covered?
Address verification, parsing, autocomplete and geocoding cover the United States. PIN code autocomplete covers India. IP geolocation is worldwide.
Is there a free plan, and does it expire?
Every API has a free tier that renews each month and never expires. No credit card is needed to start. Autocomplete gives 100,000 free requests a month, IP geolocation 50,000, verification, parsing and geocoding 100 each.
How fast can I make the first call?
Create an account, copy the key from the dashboard, and paste it into the curl command above. That is the whole setup. More answers on the FAQ page.
